Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the sølsk mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is provided by Solsk, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Solsk” or “sølsk”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Service definition: sølsk is an 18+ social community service that helps adults discover and communicate with other adults for lawful friendship, dating, and conversation.
Core idea: meet people. one conversation at a time.
1. Eligibility and United States Scope
You may use the Service only if:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you are located in the United States and the Service is available in your App Store storefront;
- you can form a binding agreement under applicable law;
- you are not legally prohibited from using the Service; and
- you have not been removed from the Service unless Solsk gives written permission to return.
Age is based primarily on the birth date you declare. Optional identity verification is not universal age verification. The Service is for personal, non-commercial use unless Solsk expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
2. What sølsk Is
sølsk is an 18+ digital hangout for meeting people one-on-one—whether you’re here for friendship, dating, or simply someone to talk to. The Service is a medium for introductions and communication; it does not guarantee a match, compatibility, identity, safety, enrollment status, relationship outcome, or offline conduct.
A profile may identify what brings its owner to sølsk: Friends, Chatting, Long-term dating, Short-term dating, or Casual dating. These labels express a current preference, not consent to any specific interaction or conduct.
3. Accounts and Account Security
- Provide accurate, current information and keep it reasonably up to date.
- Maintain only accounts you are authorized to use.
- Protect your device, sign-in method, and account credentials.
- Notify brandon@solsk.app promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
- Do not sell, transfer, rent, or share an account.
Solsk may require reasonable steps to protect an account or investigate suspected abuse, but no account check is a guarantee.
4. Profiles, Intent, Discovery, and Visibility
Profiles can contain photos, a biography, age, location label, what brings the person to sølsk, optional people-and-lifestyle answers, optional college details, verification badges, and other information the Service makes available. Some profile information is visible to other members. The Privacy Policy explains public and private fields in more detail.
Feed filters help a member narrow discovery. A filter affects only that member’s feed and does not create a promise that a displayed person is compatible, available, safe, or interested. Solsk does not silently convert a retired dating-goals answer into the new “what brings you here?” field.
5. Optional Verification and Badges
Identity Verified and College Verified are independent, optional trust signals. A person may have neither, either, or both.
Identity Verified
Identity verification is provided through Stripe Identity and may involve an identity document and a live selfie. A successful result means the provider’s verification process returned a qualifying result at that time. It is not a criminal background check, sex-offender-registry check, guarantee of current information, endorsement, or safety guarantee.
College Verified
College Verified means the account demonstrated control of a qualifying school email address at one point. It does not prove current enrollment, identity, age, affiliation today, good standing, or safety.
Solsk may remove or re-check a badge if verification information changes, a result is reversed, misuse is suspected, or continued display would be misleading. Review the Verification Notice before choosing either path.
NO BACKGROUND CHECKS. SOLSK DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR SEX-OFFENDER-REGISTRY SCREENINGS ON MEMBERS. USE CAUTION, FOLLOW THE SAFETY CENTER, AND CONSIDER PUBLIC RECORDS OR OTHER LAWFUL SAFETY STEPS BEFORE MEETING SOMEONE OFFLINE.
6. Community Standards and Prohibited Conduct
You must follow the Community Guidelines and may not:
- use the Service if you are under 18 or to contact, depict sexually, exploit, groom, or endanger a minor;
- harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, discriminate against, defraud, or exploit another person;
- send unsolicited sexual content, engage in cyberflashing, coerce sexual conduct, commit sextortion, or share intimate images without consent;
- facilitate paid sexual activity, escorting, pornography sales, trafficking, or exploitation;
- publish explicit sexual material on profiles, Gnista, comments, or other member-visible surfaces;
- promote illegal activity, violence, self-harm, dangerous conduct, or controlled-substance sales;
- spam, scrape, automate access, interfere with security, reverse engineer protected portions, or misuse reports;
- collect another person’s information for unauthorized surveillance, marketing, discrimination, or harm; or
- use the Service for commercial solicitation without written authorization.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Solsk a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, format, and moderate that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, protect, improve, and provide the Service, enforce policies, comply with law, and exercise rights under these Terms. The license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except where continued processing is reasonably necessary for backups, legal obligations, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or content you shared with others.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content. Solsk may remove, restrict, preserve, or disclose content when reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or operation of the Service.
8. Public Content and Private Adult Conversation
Explicit nudity and sexual material are prohibited from profiles, Gnista, comments, and other member-visible surfaces. Inside a private Låse, adults may have lawful sexual conversation or share intimate media only when both participants actually welcome it.
Entering a general Låse does not authorize sexual content. Consent must be specific, voluntary, informed, and ongoing; it may be withdrawn at any time. Unsolicited explicit content, cyberflashing, coercion, sextortion, nonconsensual image sharing, content involving minors, paid sexual activity, escorting, pornography sales, trafficking, and exploitation are prohibited everywhere on the Service.
9. Låse: One Conversation at a Time
A new Låse is a private, one-on-one conversation that lasts for a fixed period of up to three hours. It may end earlier through Takk, reporting, or a safety or account action. The timer does not extend because a conversation is going well, and neither person is promised continued access afterward.
Låse is designed to slow things down and give one person full attention—a chance for a friendship, a date, or simply a good conversation to become something real. It is not a promise that either participant will listen, respond, behave safely, or continue communicating.
Current Låse text, photos, and videos use encryption. Encryption is a technical safeguard, not a promise that content can never be accessed. If a participant makes a report and authorizes disclosure, relevant conversation evidence may be disclosed to authorized safety systems, reviewers, administrators, service providers, and authorities where appropriate. Private-message enforcement is primarily report-driven.
10. Reporting, Blocking, and Safety Actions
Use in-app reporting where available or email brandon@solsk.app. Reports are handled as privately as reasonably possible, but information may be shared with the reported person, reviewers, providers, advisers, or authorities when necessary to investigate, enforce policies, protect people, or comply with law. Solsk does not promise a specific review time or outcome.
Good-faith reporting is allowed even when an allegation cannot ultimately be proven. Knowingly false, malicious, retaliatory, or abusive reporting may lead to action. Blocking may not be available during an active Låse; use the available reporting or ending tools and contact emergency services if danger is immediate.
11. Moderation and Enforcement
Solsk may use human review, automated systems, service providers, and information supplied in reports to enforce these Terms. Action may include removing content, limiting features, ending a Låse, removing a badge, reducing visibility, suspending or terminating an account, preserving evidence, or notifying authorities. Solsk is not required to warn before acting and may be unable to share safety-sensitive evidence.
12. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Promotions
Paid features and subscriptions may be offered through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Prices, duration, renewal, and cancellation terms shown at purchase control. Apple processes payment and refund requests under its rules. Manage or cancel an Apple subscription through the Apple account used to purchase it.
Promotions may have separate terms. The terms for the verification-based reward are in the Two-Month Film Reel Offer Terms. A promotional grant does not stack merely because an account completes both verification paths.
13. Ads and Third-Party Content
The Service may display ads, sponsored material, music metadata, links, or other third-party content. An ad or link is not an endorsement. Third parties control their own services and policies. Advertisers remain subject to the separate Advertiser Policy where applicable.
14. Account Deletion, Suspension, and Termination
You may request account deletion through the in-app deletion control where available. Access may stop quickly, but deletion is a backend process and is not guaranteed to finish immediately. Some information may remain for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, reports, provider records, backups, or technical reasons, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the app does not delete the account.
Solsk may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for policy violations, safety risk, legal requirements, fraud, nonpayment, misuse, or discontinuation of the Service. Sections that should logically survive termination—including content licenses for retained records, safety, disclaimers, liability limits, disputes, and legal compliance—will survive.
15. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on providers including Apple, Firebase/Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, Resend, and OpenAI. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. Solsk is not responsible for third-party services outside Solsk’s control, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.
16. Safety and Offline Meetings
Online introductions carry risk. Read the Safety Center, keep personal information private until trust is earned, use current photos and conversation to assess consistency, tell a trusted person about an offline meetup, meet in a public place, arrange independent transportation, stay sober enough to make decisions, and leave whenever something feels wrong. In an emergency, call 911 in the United States.
Texas residents should review the conspicuous no-background-check disclosure above and the community-safety guidance for services that facilitate social introductions. The notice and related precautions are based on Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 106.
17. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SOLSK DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOLSK DOES NOT GUARANTEE AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, ACCURACY, IDENTITY, ENROLLMENT, COMPATIBILITY, MEMBER CONDUCT, MATCHES, OR ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES A WARRANTY OR RIGHT THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOLSK AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR MEMBER CONDUCT. SOLSK’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID SOLSK IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Solsk and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and providers from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your content, your conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Solsk’s own unlawful conduct.
20. Disputes, Arbitration, and Class Waiver
Before filing a claim, send a written description to brandon@solsk.app and allow 30 days for informal resolution. Except for individual small-claims matters, claims seeking urgent injunctive relief for safety or intellectual property, and claims that cannot legally be arbitrated, you and Solsk agree to resolve disputes through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable consumer rules.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLAIMS MUST BE BROUGHT INDIVIDUALLY, NOT AS A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, MASS, PRIVATE-ATTORNEY-GENERAL, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, AND EACH PARTY WAIVES A JURY TRIAL. You may opt out by emailing brandon@solsk.app with the subject “Arbitration Opt-Out” within 30 days after first accepting these Terms; include your full name and account email.
Texas law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal or nonwaivable consumer law controls.
21. Changes to These Terms
Solsk may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, law, or operations. The effective date will be updated, and Solsk will provide any additional notice or consent required by law.
22. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and incorporated policies form the agreement concerning the Service.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective to the extent permitted.
- No waiver. A failure to enforce a provision is not a later waiver.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without written consent. Solsk may transfer them in a corporate transaction or by law.
- Electronic communications. Service communications may be provided electronically where permitted.
