Safety Center
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
sølsk is an 18+ digital hangout for meeting people one-on-one—whether you’re here for friendship, dating, or simply someone to talk to. Meeting anyone online carries risk. No app, badge, filter, or moderation system can guarantee another person’s identity, intentions, or conduct.
SOLSK DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR SEX-OFFENDER-REGISTRY SCREENINGS ON ITS MEMBERS.
USE CAUTION WHEN COMMUNICATING WITH A STRANGER. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR LAST NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, HOME ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, PLACE OF WORK, OR OTHER IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN AN INITIAL MESSAGE OR PROFILE. STOP COMMUNICATING WITH ANYONE WHO PRESSURES, FRIGHTENS, OR DECEIVES YOU. IF YOU CHOOSE TO MEET, TELL A TRUSTED PERSON, MEET IN A PUBLIC PLACE, ARRANGE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION, AND DO NOT HAVE A STRANGER PICK YOU UP AT HOME.
This safety notice is based on Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 106.
1. What Verification Does—and Does Not—Mean
Verification is optional. Identity Verified and College Verified are independent trust signals; a person may have neither, either, or both.
- Identity Verified means Stripe Identity returned a qualifying identity-verification result at that time. It is not a background check, sex-offender search, endorsement, or safety guarantee.
- College Verified means the account demonstrated control of a qualifying school email at one point. It does not prove current enrollment, identity, age, affiliation today, good standing, or safety.
- No badge does not prove someone is unsafe, and a badge does not prove someone is safe.
Read the Identity and College Verification Notice for details.
2. Before You Interact
Protect identifying information
- Use the app’s messaging before giving out a phone number, personal email, social-media handle, or exact address.
- Keep your last name, workplace, class schedule, daily routine, financial information, account codes, and identity documents private until trust is earned.
- Review photos for house numbers, mail, school IDs, vehicle plates, workplace logos, location metadata, and recognizable backgrounds.
- Remember that a city label and rounded distance can still reveal an approximate area.
Look for consistency, not certainty
Read the full profile. Notice whether photos, age, location, what brought the person here, and conversation remain consistent. Search a photo or public information if something seems copied or too polished. No single check can establish safety.
Common early warning signs
- moving immediately to another app or asking for secrecy;
- refusing reasonable questions while demanding personal information from you;
- dramatic emergencies involving money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, travel, fees, or account access;
- pressure to send intimate media, meet privately, drink, use drugs, or make a fast commitment;
- claims that a badge proves safety, wealth, enrollment, or official endorsement; and
- anger, guilt, threats, or repeated contact after you slow down or say no.
3. During a Låse
A new Låse lasts up to three hours unless it ends earlier through Takk, reporting, or a safety or account action. The timer does not require either person to reply. You can stop engaging at any time. A friendship, a date, or a good conversation can grow only when both people want it.
Consent applies to messages and media
Entering a general Låse, choosing a dating intent, flirting, or sharing something earlier does not authorize sexual content. Consensual adults may discuss sex or share intimate media in private only when both people actually welcome it. Ask first. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. Never send unsolicited explicit material.
Private does not mean risk-free
Current Låse text, photos, and videos use encryption. A recipient can still screenshot, record, save with another device, or redistribute content. If a participant reports a Låse and authorizes disclosure, relevant conversation evidence may be disclosed to authorized safety systems, reviewers, administrators, service providers, advisers, or authorities. Private-message enforcement is primarily report-driven.
If something feels unsafe
- Stop responding and do not argue with a threat or scammer.
- Use the report or available ending tool. Blocking may not be available during an active Låse.
- Preserve screenshots, usernames, payment requests, and threats if doing so is safe.
- Do not pay a blackmailer or send more intimate material. Contact law enforcement and a trusted person.
- If there is immediate danger, call 911 in the United States.
4. Sexual Safety, Intimate Media, and Sextortion
- Never share intimate media unless every depicted adult consents to both the creation and the specific sharing.
- Do not show identifying details, tattoos, faces, documents, addresses, or location clues in intimate media.
- Assume anything sent can be copied permanently.
- Do not threaten to expose someone, demand payment, or use intimate media as leverage.
- Never engage with sexual content involving anyone under 18. Report it without downloading or redistributing it.
Cyberflashing, coercion, sextortion, nonconsensual image sharing, minors, paid sexual activity, escorting, pornography sales, trafficking, and exploitation violate the Community Guidelines. Consent may be withdrawn even after a conversation becomes sexual.
5. If You Decide to Meet Offline
Before meeting
- Use a live voice or video conversation first if it helps you assess consistency.
- Tell a trusted person who you are meeting, where, when, and when you expect to return.
- Share a live location with a trusted person if appropriate, not with the person you are meeting.
- Choose a busy, public place with staff and reliable cell service. Avoid homes, hotel rooms, parked cars, and isolated areas for a first meeting.
- Arrange and control your own transportation. Do not rely on the other person for a ride.
- Set a check-in or code word with someone you trust.
During the meeting
- Keep your phone charged and personal belongings with you.
- Stay sober enough to make decisions and watch your drink.
- Do not leave food or drinks unattended.
- Leave immediately if details change, pressure starts, or your instincts say something is wrong.
- You do not owe politeness, an explanation, physical contact, a second location, or another meeting.
After the meeting
Check in with the trusted person you told. Save relevant evidence and report serious misconduct. Contact police or a support resource below if you experienced assault, stalking, coercion, theft, or another crime. A good-faith report remains appropriate even if the allegation is difficult to prove.
6. Scams and Manipulation
Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, financial credentials, one-time login codes, or identity documents to someone you met through the Service.
- Be skeptical of emergencies, investment opportunities, immigration or travel fees, medical claims, package customs fees, and requests to “prove trust.”
- Do not let someone route money through your account or ask you to receive and resend packages.
- Contact a bank or payment provider immediately if you sent money or shared account details.
- Report the account and preserve transaction records, usernames, messages, and payment addresses.
7. Reporting and Privacy
Use in-app reporting where available or email brandon@solsk.app. Reports are handled as privately as reasonably possible, not absolutely secretly. Solsk may disclose information to reviewers, providers, advisers, the reported person when reasonably necessary, or authorities to investigate, protect people, enforce rules, or comply with law. No specific review time or outcome is promised.
Good-faith reporting is allowed even when an allegation cannot ultimately be proven. Knowingly false or retaliatory reports can violate the rules, but uncertainty or a lack of conclusive evidence alone does not make a report false.
