Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Solsk, Inc. (“Solsk” or “sølsk”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and retains personal information through the sølsk mobile application, website, support channels, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
sølsk is an 18+ social community service that helps adults discover and communicate with other adults for lawful friendship, dating, and conversation. The Service is intended for adults in the United States. Do not use it if you are under 18.
1. Scope and Important Distinctions
This Policy covers information handled by Solsk through the Service. It does not replace the privacy policies of Apple, Firebase/Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, Resend, OpenAI, or another provider.
- Public or member-visible information can be shown to other members on profiles, cards, Gnista, comments, badges, or similar surfaces.
- Private account information supports sign-in, settings, verification, safety, purchases, and operations and is not intended to appear on a public profile.
- Private Låse content is not ordinarily public, but a participant may disclose relevant content through a report.
- Feed filters are used to select what appears in the viewer’s feed and are not copied onto the viewer’s public profile merely because a filter is selected.
2. Information sølsk Collects
2.1 Account and contact information
- email address, Apple sign-in identifiers, authentication identifiers, and account status;
- display name, declared birth date or age, and onboarding completion state;
- support requests, appeals, emails, diagnostics, and other communications; and
- device push token, notification choices, and account-security signals.
2.2 Profile and member-visible information
Depending on what you provide and which features are active, member-visible information can include:
- display name, declared age, gender, pronouns, race or ethnicity, photos, biography, and profile prompts;
- the “what brings you here?” value: Friends, Chatting, Long-term dating, Short-term dating, or Casual dating;
- answered people-and-lifestyle fields, such as children, relationship style, politics, religion, smoking, drinking, pets, and exercise;
- city or general location label, rounded distance, college name or details, selected music information, and account activity shown by the product;
- Identity Verified and College Verified badges; and
- Gnista posts, public prompts, comments, reactions, and other content you submit to member-visible surfaces.
Optional profile answers may reveal sensitive information, including race or ethnicity, religion, political views, sexual or relationship preferences, and other personal characteristics. Choose only information you are comfortable showing. Retired dating-goals answers may remain in private account records for compatibility, but Solsk does not automatically reinterpret them as the newer “what brings you here?” value.
2.3 Feed preferences and sensitive filters
Feed preferences can include age range, gender, location, distance, what brings a person to sølsk, children, relationship style, politics, religion, smoking, drinking, pets, and exercise. These filters are intended to affect only your feed. Multiple filters can be combined, and a candidate who did not answer a selected category may not appear. A blank filter means any value is acceptable for that category.
2.4 Location information
If you allow location access, Solsk may collect precise or near-precise latitude and longitude, timestamps, city or region labels, and location-permission state. Raw coordinates are used privately for discovery, distance calculation, safety, and abuse prevention. Other members are intended to receive a city/general-area label and rounded distance—not your raw coordinates. Location can still be sensitive because even an approximate area or distance may reveal where you spend time.
2.5 Photos, video, audio, and other content
Solsk collects profile images, uploads, camera or photo-library selections, comments, prompt responses, Låse messages, photos, and videos, report attachments, and associated metadata. The app may request camera, photo-library, microphone, or notification access only when a related feature needs it.
2.6 Låse conversations
Current Låse text, photos, and videos use encryption. Solsk stores the records and encrypted content needed to deliver and maintain a Låse. A Låse is not public, but encryption does not mean content can never be disclosed. If a participant reports a conversation and authorizes disclosure, relevant content and the information needed to access it may be provided to authorized safety systems, reviewers, administrators, service providers, legal advisers, or authorities. Automated report triage may include up to 30 recent messages, the report description, and relevant account context.
2.7 Identity verification
Stripe Identity, not Solsk, collects and processes the government identity document, selfie or live-capture material, device and fraud signals, and biometric-derived information used in its verification process. Solsk’s backend stores the verification status and result, Stripe session reference, event metadata, consent timestamps, and redaction status; it is not designed to store copies of the raw identity-document or selfie images. After a successful verification, Solsk asks Stripe to redact the verification session. That request can take time or fail, and unsuccessful or abandoned sessions are not automatically redacted by Solsk. Stripe controls its own retention, deletion, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal records under its policies. See the Verification Notice.
2.8 College verification
College verification can collect a school email address, normalized email or domain, verification code hash, code expiration and attempt data, delivery status, school identifier, verification result, and badge state. Resend may process the school email address and message-delivery details to send the code. College Verified proves control of a qualifying school email at one point; it does not prove current enrollment, identity, age, or safety.
2.9 Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes payment credentials and App Store transactions. RevenueCat may receive a Solsk account identifier as an App User ID, anonymous identifiers or aliases, product and transaction identifiers, receipts, entitlement and subscription status, renewal or expiration information, and related technical records for paid purchases. Solsk records RevenueCat webhook events for purchase processing. The separate two-month verification reward and its permanent one-time grant marker are stored in Solsk’s Firebase account record; RevenueCat does not administer that promotional grant. Solsk does not receive a full payment-card number from Apple.
2.10 Device, usage, security, and diagnostic information
- device and operating-system type, app version, language, time zone, identifiers, network information, and IP-derived signals;
- feature use, screen or interaction events, session timestamps, search and feed activity, errors, crashes, and performance diagnostics;
- authentication events, App Check signals, abuse-prevention data, moderation statuses, report history, and enforcement records; and
- campaign, referral, install, or conversion-measurement signals made available by Apple or authorized advertising-measurement services.
The app includes Firebase Analytics event logging, but Firebase Analytics collection depends on runtime and provider configuration. Separately, Solsk records first-party account, usage, feed, advertising, security, support, and operational events in Firebase even when Firebase Analytics is not collecting a particular event.
2.11 Information from other people and providers
Solsk may receive information from another member’s report, Apple, Firebase/Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, Resend, OpenAI, advertising or attribution services, fraud-prevention providers, public sources, and authorities. A report can include allegations about you and content supplied by the reporting person.
3. How sølsk Uses Information
- create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts;
- build profiles, show member-visible content, calculate rounded distance, and operate discovery and filters;
- deliver Gnista, comments, Låse, notifications, purchases, entitlements, and promotions;
- perform optional identity and college verification and show the resulting badges;
- moderate public content, process reports, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, protect people, and enforce policies;
- answer support requests, debug problems, improve reliability, and measure feature performance;
- measure advertising or campaign outcomes where configured and legally permitted;
- comply with law, respond to valid legal process, establish or defend legal claims, and preserve evidence; and
- create aggregated or deidentified statistics that are not reasonably linked to a person.
4. Automated Systems, AI, and Human Review
Solsk may use automated systems and human review to screen public profile content, photos, Gnista, comments, ads, abuse signals, and reports. Automated results can be incomplete or wrong and may be reviewed, corrected, or supplemented by a person.
OpenAI may process public content submitted for moderation; support messages, selected diagnostics, and account context used to answer a support request;
report descriptions; and Låse content that a reporting participant authorizes for disclosure. Applicable API requests are configured with
store: false so they are not kept as reusable response-history records, but OpenAI’s independent security, abuse-monitoring, and legal retention rules may still apply.
Solsk does not describe support AI or ad review as fully private or entirely human.
5. How Information Is Disclosed
5.1 Other members and the public
Member-visible profile fields, badges, Gnista, comments, and similar content are disclosed to members who can access those surfaces. Content can be copied, recorded, or reshared by recipients despite product rules. Raw coordinates, private feed filters, verification documents, and private contact information are not intended for public display.
To deliver discovery and profile features, Solsk maintains member-visible profile mirror records. In addition to descriptive profile content, a mirror can contain technical service-state fields such as profile, availability, Låse, verification, moderation, media-safety, account, and safety status. These fields help control visibility and safety, are not background checks or endorsements, and may be accessible in underlying profile data to signed-in members even when they are not shown as descriptive text in the interface.
5.2 Service providers
- Apple: sign-in, App Store distribution, purchases, notifications, device services, and advertising or conversion measurement.
- Firebase/Google: authentication, databases, cloud functions, storage, App Check, diagnostics, and analytics if enabled.
- Stripe Identity: optional identity-document and selfie verification.
- RevenueCat: paid-purchase, subscription, and paid-entitlement administration.
- Resend: transactional email, including college verification codes.
- OpenAI: content moderation, safety triage, support assistance, and ad review as described above.
Providers receive information only for the services they perform, subject to contracts, provider terms, technical configuration, and law.
5.3 Reports, safety, legal process, and corporate events
Solsk may disclose information to reviewers, advisers, the reported person when reasonably necessary for fairness or investigation, emergency services, law enforcement, regulators, courts, or others where Solsk reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to protect a person, investigate misconduct, enforce rights, comply with valid process, or address fraud or security. Report privacy is qualified; Solsk cannot promise that a report is known only to Solsk.
Information may also be disclosed in connection with financing, due diligence, reorganization, merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or a sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and applicable law.
5.4 Sale and targeted-advertising position
Solsk does not sell personal information for money. Solsk may disclose limited campaign, install, and conversion-measurement information to Apple and authorized measurement providers. Depending on applicable state law, some of that processing may be treated as “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising even when no money changes hands. To exercise an available opt-out right, email brandon@solsk.app. Device or platform privacy controls may also limit measurement.
6. Retention
Retention depends on the type of information, why it is needed, legal requirements, safety, provider behavior, and technical systems.
- Active accounts: core account, profile, preferences, verification state, purchases, and operational records generally remain while the account is active.
- Drafts and media: drafts and current media remain as needed for the feature. Replaced or deleted media may take time to disappear from active storage, caches, and backups.
- Låse: a Låse ending after three hours is not a deletion timer. Ordinary Låse session and message records may remain after the conversation ends, and Solsk does not promise a fixed automatic deletion period for them. Account deletion replaces certain participant identifiers with an anonymous deletion reference, but message and other content fields may remain in retained records. Reported conversations, preservation holds, safety records, disputes, and legally required records may remain longer.
- Reports: report-related records can carry preservation or hold metadata, including a 365-day hold marker in some workflows. A hold marker does not promise automatic deletion on that date. Serious safety, fraud, dispute, and legal records may be retained longer when justified.
- Verification and purchases: Stripe controls parts of identity-verification retention. RevenueCat controls parts of paid-purchase and entitlement retention. Provider-controlled records may remain under each provider’s policies and for security, fraud prevention, accounting, platform reconciliation, dispute handling, or legal obligations.
- Backups and logs: residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, fraud records, and provider systems after active deletion.
- Expiration fields: some records carry expiration timestamps and may be removed by configured TTL or cleanup processes. Expiration-based deletion is asynchronous and is not a promise of immediate deletion. Solsk does not promise TTL deletion for Låse records, college-verification records, verification-event records, or RevenueCat webhook records.
7. Account Deletion
An authenticated deletion request starts a backend process; it does not guarantee that every record disappears immediately. Access may stop quickly. The process is designed to remove the account, private profile data, and user-owned storage media and to anonymize certain Låse sessions and messages. Some content fields, reports, transaction records, security records, backups, provider records, or information required for law, safety, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution may remain. Deleting the app alone does not delete the account.
The automated account-deletion process does not remove every separate service record. College-verification records, identity-verification event records, and RevenueCat webhook event records may remain after account deletion. They may be retained for eligibility and duplicate-grant controls, fraud and security prevention, accounting or platform reconciliation, disputes, legal obligations, or other purposes described in this Policy. Deleting a Solsk account does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically delete a RevenueCat customer record.
To request review of residual records, email brandon@solsk.app from the address associated with the account. Solsk will delete or deidentify records it controls unless retention is permitted or required for a reason described in this Policy.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Edit or clear optional profile answers and change “what brings you here?” through profile controls when available.
- Leave optional feed filters blank, change them, or clear them.
- Decline optional identity and college verification.
- Control location, camera, photos, microphone, and notifications in device settings, understanding that a related feature may be limited.
- Manage Apple subscriptions and purchases through Apple.
- Delete the account through the in-app control where available.
Depending on your state and applicable law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling; limit certain sensitive-data processing; appeal a denied request; and receive nondiscriminatory treatment. Solsk may verify a request and may deny or limit it where law permits. Submit a request or appeal to brandon@solsk.app. Include the account email and the request type; do not email an identity document unless requested through a secure method.
9. Sensitive Information
Precise location, race or ethnicity, religion, political views, identity-verification data, and information about dating, sexual, or relationship preferences can be sensitive. Solsk processes these fields to provide the features you choose, with consent where required, and for safety, legal compliance, or another permitted purpose. Optional fields and filters can be left blank. You can edit or clear optional profile answers and filters through available profile and preference controls.
10. Security
Solsk uses safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission, authentication, access controls, provider security features, logging, and encryption for current Låse content. No system is perfectly secure. Protect your device and sign-in method, avoid sharing account access, and report suspected compromise promptly.
11. Children
The Service is strictly for adults 18 and older. Solsk does not knowingly allow a child to use the Service. If Solsk learns that an account belongs to a person under 18, Solsk may disable it, delete information where appropriate, preserve evidence needed for safety, and report suspected exploitation to authorities. Contact brandon@solsk.app with a specific concern.
12. Processing Locations
The Service is offered to adults in the United States, but information may be processed in the United States and other countries where providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. Providers may use contractual and legal safeguards for cross-border processing.
13. Changes to This Policy
Solsk may update this Policy as the Service, law, or data practices change. The effective date will be updated, and Solsk will provide any additional notice or consent required by law.
